Colombo
You will be picked up at the airport on arrival and proceed to Colombo, the bustling main city of Sri Lanka, replete with historic sites, multicultural cuisine, boutique shopping and eclectic activities. You can explore the city on foot or via a fun tuk tuk ride. Stay overnight in Colombo.
Colombo – Kandy
Leave for the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a sanctuary established by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife to care for orphaned baby elephants found in the wild. Located in a coconut plantation, you can feed majestic elephants of all ages and even watch them frolic in the Maha Oya river that flows by the plantation during bath time. Next visit Kandy where you can tour Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) which houses a tooth relic of the Lord Buddha. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered to be one of the most sacred places of worship for Buddhists. Stay overnight in Kandy.
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Proceed to the cool and charming city of Nuwara Eliya. Known as Little England during colonial rule, Nuwara Eliya is a popular travel destination. Take a boat ride along Lake Gregory or leisurely stroll through Victoria Park, buy flowers from a street vendor and watch the sun set over the mountains from a fantastic vantage while you sip on a cup of exquisite Sri Lankan tea. Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya
Head to the misty mountainscape of Ella. Scale the heady heights of Ella Rock, enjoy the gorgeous sight of the Nine Arch Bridge, watch the roaring waters of Diyaluma Falls and hike through winding tea plantations. (You can also opt to take the train from Kandy to Ella, taking in world renowned scenic beauty.) On completing your tour of this magical mountain city, return to Nuwara Eliya.
