Kandy

Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains, 115 kilometers from Colombo’s seaport. Kandy is nestled in a steep landscape, and all eyes are drawn to the city’s heart, where the Kandy Lake is a wonderful feature. The Dalada Maligawa or Temple of the Toothis is located in Kandy, and it is within this picturesque city that the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha is securely kept. A plethora of historic Buddhist temples may be seen in Kandy.
